最近兩星期,我帶著「療癒空靈鼓工作坊」,先後走訪多間機構,包括東華三院方樹泉長者地區中心、香港紅十字會、賽馬會老友運動計劃「靜觀動樂」,以及現代貨箱碼頭有限公司。
每場活動中,當參加者第一次接觸空靈鼓時,總會聽到類似的驚喜反饋:
「想不到自己完全沒有音樂底子,也能彈奏出簡單曲目!」
「用數字簡譜彈奏真的好輕鬆、好好玩!」
「這兩小時過得特別快,大家都全神貫注、沉浸其中。」
這些反饋讓我特別感動,因為當初我自己第一次接觸空靈鼓時,也有完全相同的感受——雖然沒有鋼琴八級的功底,但只要跟著簡單的數字簡譜,就能敲出耳熟能詳的童謠、節日歌曲或輕快旋律。那一刻,我彷彿回到小朋友的狀態,純粹地享受音樂帶來的快樂與療癒。
正是這種「操作簡單卻充滿成功感」的特質,讓我決定創作出「療癒空靈鼓工作坊」。設計課程時,我最核心的目標就是:讓每位參加者都能「樂在其中」,真正貫徹我們公司的理念——「利用簡單工具來療癒自己」。
當大家專注於手眼協調、敲擊出一個個音符時,其實就是在進行一種很自然的靜觀練習。因此,我在工作坊中融入不少靜觀元素,希望參加者不只學會彈奏,更能在過程中體會「專注當下」的樂趣與放鬆。
其中一場特別深刻的經歷,是在東華三院方樹泉長者地區中心,為一群認知障礙的長者朋友設計的四節工作坊。由於對象、目標和時間都不同,我為每場活動都做了針對性調整。這次特別做了三個修正:
1. 降低彈奏難度,例如把曲目大幅縮短;
2. 放慢整體節奏,先讓長者們熟悉不同音鍵的位置;
3. 挑選他們最耳熟能詳的歌曲,例如《甜蜜蜜》——當長者們彈奏時,不少人會跟著輕輕哼唱,甚至露出滿足的笑容,那一刻真的很溫暖動人。
走訪不同機構的這兩星期,讓我更加堅信當初的初衷:希望透過簡單的工具,讓不同年齡、不同背景的群體都能接觸到療癒的力量。「療癒空靈鼓工作坊」正是利用觸覺與聽覺,讓參加者在感官體驗中自然進入專注、放鬆的狀態,練習靜觀、療癒自己。

Healing Tongue Drum Workshop: Practicing Mindfulness and Healing with Simple Tools, Helping Different Groups Find Peace and Joy in the Present Moment
Over the past two weeks, I have conducted the same "Healing Tongue Drum Workshop" at various institutions. In each session, when participants first laid their hands on the tongue drum, I would always hear similar expressions of surprise:
"I never thought I could play simple tunes without any musical background!"
"Playing with numerical notation is so easy and fun!"
"The two hours passed by so quickly, everyone was completely focused and immersed in the activity."
These feedbacks touched me deeply because when I first encountered the tongue drum, I had the exact same feeling—despite not having a Grade 8 piano background, following simple numerical notations allowed me to play familiar rhymes, songs, or cheerful melodies. In that moment, I felt like a child again, purely enjoying the happiness and healing brought by music.
It was this "simple yet fulfilling" characteristic that led me to create the "Healing Tongue Drum Workshop." When designing the program, my core goal was to ensure that every participant could "find joy" in it, embodying our company's philosophy of "healing oneself with simple tools."
As everyone focused on hand-eye coordination and played note by note, they were actually engaging in a natural mindfulness practice. Therefore, I incorporated many mindfulness elements into the workshop, hoping that participants would not only learn to play but also experience the pleasure and relaxation of "being present" throughout the process.
One particularly profound experience was at the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Shu Chuen District Elderly Community Centre, where I designed a four-session workshop for a group of elderly friends with cognitive impairments. Due to the differences in participants, goals, and time constraints, I made specific adjustments for each session. Three key modifications included:
→ Lowering the difficulty of play, such as significantly shortening the pieces.
→ Slowing down the overall tempo, allowing the elderly to familiarize themselves with the different keys.
→ Selecting the songs they were most familiar with, such as "Tian Mi Mi" - as the elderly played, many of them softly hummed along, and some even showed satisfied smiles, creating a heartwarming moment.
Visiting various institutions over these two weeks reinforced my initial intent: to allow people of different ages and backgrounds to access the healing power through simple tools. The "Healing Tongue Drum Workshop" utilizes touch and hearing to naturally guide participants into a state of focus and relaxation, practicing mindfulness and self-healing through sensory experiences.
I am deeply grateful for the invitations from each institution and for every participant willing to open their hearts and pick up the drumsticks. Your smiles and sharing are my greatest motivation to keep moving forward.
